Title:
Global Pricing Update
Release:

Price expectations for 2008

Here is the latest information for what can be expected for the forseeable future. The price of Glycol spiked in the US in December at .82 cents per lb. due to global demand. This price caused the US demand to wain and this caused a retraction in price to about .64 cents per lb. This is the price level at present. The outlook is that this represents the floor from which pricing will increase when antifreeze demand comes into the market this summer.

Little supply change worldwide is expected in the short term, so prices will not get any downside help as a result. In the prior posting I talked about the role in global supply the SABIC Plant failures had. The plant is proposed to reopen 2Q 2008 due to an accellerated retrofit, most analysts doubt the validity of this claim. Even if this happens the backlog in demand would take months to correct, and that assumes no increase in demand, a far fetched proposal indeed. The major suppliers in the US are still on allocation status for product deliveries and so we are probably at the most reasonable pricing level going forward.

This means that if price levels stay in the range of .65 to .80 per lb. we should not have any reason to change our pricing on our high quality recycled coolants for your business needs. It is our goal to provide stable pricing so you, our valued customer know what to expect. Until next update, Thanks for your confidence in us! Rob Kolhoff President, ARI
