Latest News.
The global causes of the price spike that occured in the summer/fall 2007 remain in place. The SABIC plant in Saudia Arabia that failed will not be in operation for several months or perhaps a year. The moderating price of a barrel of oil will provide some limited relief, if nothing else no further price increases. Until we have a ramp up in global production and some run time to catch up on the shortfall caused by the SABIC plant failure don't look for any significant price changes.
We at ARI have been able to keep price increases to a minimum during this period of instability and we do not anticipate any need to change from where we are presently. We know that you our customer appreciate the price stability we provide and we are committed to continuing to do just that while providing the best coolant solutions money can buy. Your loyalty is appreciated!
FAQ Section
Is there a coolant that will work for all cars?
In a word: Not really. How is that for a difinitive answer. The reason I say that is just about any coolant will work in almost any vehicle, but OEM requirements vary greatly. For instance, GM does not want silicated coolants used in their vehicles. Some Techs have told us of service bulletins from GM that in some of their engines the water passages are so narrow that the heavy layer created by silicates will block these and lead to hot spots and preignition/detonation problems in these engines.
Another example is Ford and their rejection of non-silicated coolants. They claim that the Dex-cool/ universal ext. life like the Prestone Ext. Life will cause the water pump housings and impeller to cavitate. They demand a silicated formulation like their premium gold or the G-05 aftermarket alternative.
So you can see why I say there is no one size fits all approach that will work. If you as a maintainence facility are in the habit of changing over cooling systems from extended life to conventional coolants you can do so with our conventional coolant. It utilizes other aluminum inhibiting compounds than silicates and will not create cavitation due to the minimal chemical approach of Non silicated extended life coolants mentioned earlier.
